Sofía Auvieux was born in Tucumán, Argentina. She is a dancer and tango teacher, and organizer of milongas and cultural events.
As a dancer, she studied with Argentinian teachers of great recognition as Aurora Lubiz, Rubén y Sabrina Véliz, Solange Acosta, Natacha Poberaj, Jonathan Spitel y Betsabet Flores, Sebastián Achaval y Roxana Suárez, Clarisa Aragón y Jonathan Saavedra, between others.
In 2021 she was selected by the National Space of Argentine Tango (ENTA) of the Ministry of Culture of Argentina for the ENTA Dance Training program. From 2010 to 2019 she participated in numerous Pista tango competitions at local and national levels, obtaining numerous awards.
Sofía produced and performed in the short film documentary “Ausencia”, about tango during the pandemic. The film was selected by Cine.Ar (Argentinian National Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual Arts’s streaming platform), and premiered in September 2022 at the Tango World Cup.
She organized several milongas (La Yumba Milonga, Milonga de Las Flores, among others), and participated as a broadcaster in the radio show “Sabor a Tango”.
Sofía is also a photographer and the co-founder of HOLA, a photo & video agency, dedicated to audiovisual and film production.
