Leipzig offers a vibrant tango scene with events on all days of the week. Milongas are held on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, plus Prácticas on Tuesdays at Wasserhäuschen and Fridays at Tangosalon.
This week
This week is all about the 23 Years of Tango Salon Leipzig anniversary festival. The anniversary festival begins on Friday at 6:15 pm with a workshop on Estilo Milonguero, followed by a Milonga at 9 pm. On Saturday it continues with a seminar on Anatomy of Tango Music at 1 pm and a workshop on Estilo Salón at 4:30 pm, before the Milonga with show takes place in the evening at 9 pm. On Sunday, the second part of the music seminar at 1 pm concludes the festival weekend. Alongside this special programme, regular classes and Milongas continue as usual.
Those who are new to Leipzig or visiting the city will find good starting points especially on weekends. The Milonga at Tangosalon Leipzig on Friday at 9 pm and Milonga Central at Baileo on Saturday at 9:30 pm are reliable addresses. During the week, Sarahs Milonga on Thursday at 9 pm at Sarah Mirren Tango offers a cosy alternative, and on Mondays Tango Club invites you to dance at 8 pm at Tango Salon Leipzig. For those who want to practise, there is Practica at Wasserhäuschen on Tuesdays at 9 pm and Freitags-Practica at Tangosalon on Fridays at 8 pm.
